Nestled into the Oak covered hills of San Antonio, this Pool House was designed as a response to the existing mid century modern home.
The new intervention navigates the existing topography, stepping down to take advantage of the different levels of the lot. The pool house sits towards the edge of the yard, framing the space and opening onto the pool.
The brick is laid in a careful pattern that reflects the siding of the home and provides both privacy and protection from the elements. Steel structure lifts the roof from the brick, floating the wood ceiling above a gathering space and allowing for glimpses into the surrounding foliage.
