Holly Alley House

Designed for urban dwellers looking to downsize, Holly Alley House opens to a vibrant alleyway where pedestrians and bikers pass en route to Austin’s most popular waterfront trail. Biker’s themselves, the clients embrace the opportunity to get to know their neighbors from the alley porch and to live an active lifestyle near the trailhead.

Tight zoning restrictions on the condo-ized lot limited the buildable area on the site, but smart planning and abundant natural light make a compact living space feel generous. Oversized bifold doors between the front porch and the living space allow for a comfortable living area without contributing the limited allowable floor area.

Clerestory windows at the intersecting shed roofs look out into beautiful pecan trees, achieving both privacy and natural light.
